Revved Up on Creativity: Sanremo Design's 2025 Epic Exploration! Artemide and Edra dishes out Design Time Travel!
Gear up for an artistic spectacle like no other as the city of Sanremo revs up the spotlight for design! The 2025 edition of "Sanremo Design - Sand" is it! A week-long fiesta of events, exhibitions, and meetings that'll turn the Academy of Fine Arts into a pulsating hub of creativity, courtesy of a collaboration with design titans Artemide and Edra.
This intense design journey, Sand 25, has been in the works, with thought-provoking talks, workshops, and debates jam-packed with opinion leaders in design and communication. Theresult? An immersive exhibition right here in the hallowed halls of the Academy, meticulously curated by the Academy's students themselves.
The chosen theme for this year's extravaganza? The lasting landmark that is 'design in suspended time'. It's an open invitation to ponder over timeless objects that weather trends and fleeting fads, their lingering value a tribute to enduring design. Edra and Artemide showcase their iconic archive pieces, museum-worthy treasures, and sparkling new inventions straight from Milan's Salone del Mobile.
Edra's offerings are a ravishing blend of elegance and engineering, their plush sofas and chairs a testament to the aesthetics-meets-technology fusion. These creations can be found nestled in the world's most prestigious museums, from the MoMA to Paris' Centre Pompidou. Each object boasts an exclusive material palette and innovative patent credentials!
Artemide, conversely, invites us to their vision of light as a enduring, human, and sustainable project. Founded in Sanremo back in 1959 by Ernesto Gismondi, this globetrotting brand now graces more than 100 countries. Artemide's creations are a tantalizing marriage of aesthetics, environmental concern, and avant-garde tech.
Sofia Tonegutti, the Academy's golden tongue when it comes to external relations, underlines the institution's esteem for this project. The event's garnered the blessing of the Municipality, Province, Region, and Confindustria. Massimo Donizelli, the Academy's right-hand man, highlights the event's purpose: "To bring the Academy into the community and vice versa."
The doors to this magnificent exhibition remain wide open until June 13. From 4 pm to 8 pm every day, aspiring designers, art enthusiasts, and curious cats can wander in for an eyeful of inspiration – for free!
