Heythere! Get ready to dive into some ancient history at the City Museum in Wiesbaden's Market Square! From March 19 to August 10, 2025, this unique exhibition, titled "At the Limes - Life on the Border of the Empire", is happening to mark the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO listing of the Limes, Germany's longest cultural monument.

This exhibition promises a fascinating exploration of life along the Roman border, showcasing rare artifacts, intriguing history, and an engaging program. You'll get to see helmets, weapons, ceramics, coins, and tools that were once used on the edge of the empire, providing a glimpse into military presence, civilian life, trade, and cultural exchange.

The exhibition features selections from the Nassau Heritage Collection, with many objects making their public debut for the first time. It especially highlights the Taunus Limes, one of the best-preserved sections of Roman frontier installations.

Wiesbaden, being a hub for Limes research since the 19th century, also pays tribute to this pioneering work through excavation tools, historical documents, and even the chain of office that Kaiser Wilhelm II once awarded to the city. The reconstruction of the Saalburg Castle sheds light on Wiesbaden's close connection to the Limes.

The accompanying program includes guided tours, lectures, and workshops, offering plenty of opportunities to learn and participate. History enthusiasts, families, and school classes can try out excavation techniques, discover ancient crafts, or delve deeper into historical research.
