A Chilly Quarrel: The Obamas' Temperature Tussle Revealed

Michelle Obama and Barack Obama, a picture of harmony in public, are not immune to disagreements behind closed doors. In an unexpected revelation, Michelle dished about a rather unusual cause of their bedroom disagreements - temperature preferences. During a chat on Amy Poehler's "Good Hang" podcast, Michelle opened up about her perfect sleeping conditions and the not-so-snuggle-friendly debate regarding the thermostat.
It's a 68°F (20°C) dreamland for Michelle, as she prefers her sheets nice and cool. But Barack is shivering in the cold, prompting a playful battle that occasionally keeps them up at night. Michelle has set the rules and strictly instructed her husband to leave the thermostat alone. However, the former President cannot resist the chill and finds himself in hot water, figuratively speaking, when Michelle confronts him with suspicious fervor. "Did you touch the thermostat? You did, didn't you?" she mightICally ask him, to which Barack always denies with wide-eyed innocence. Laughingly scolding her husband, Michelle advises him to simply put on a pair of socks if he's cold, while he's now allegedly "afraid to touch the thermostat."
Michelle also shared her penchant for early-night routine, settling down for the night around 8 PM after a 6:30 PM dinner. This affords her ample time to catch up with her husband before she happily surrenders to slumber as soon as her head hits the pillow.
Michelle and Barack have been married since 1992, sharing family life and two daughters since 1998 and 2001. Their twelve-year stint in the White House from 2009 to 2017 was not without its challenges, including dealing with a brood of women under one roof. Amidst the endless teasing and banter, Barack is forbidden from returning the favor, as Michelle only allows her to dish it out. So, while they argue over the temperature, they manage to maintain a lighthearted environment that helps in keeping their bond strong and playful.
