Urban showcase titled "50 Years of a City" debuts in Mönchengladbach

Get ready to step back in time and witness the transformation of Mönchengladbach over the past five decades! The "Then and Now - 50 Years of City History" exhibition is an unmissable spectacle, currently gracing the foyer of Sparkasse Mönchengladbach's main branch. This fascinating exhibition consists of 24 information panels jam-packed with awe-inspiring photos showcasing iconic locations and structures, side by side comparing how they've evolved from 1975 to 2025.

From the bustling Bismarckplatz and Sonnenhausplatz, magnificent Schloss Rheydt and Schloss Wickrath, the city's main train stations, to Hindenburgstraße, Rheydt's market square, the exhibition highlights it all. Don't miss out on the airport, the public bath, the city library, and the Kaiser-Friedrich-Hall, presented in all their past and present glory.

The brains behind this time-travel experience? Marketing Gesellschaft Mönchengladbach, in collaboration with the city archive. According to Mayor Felix Heinrichs, the exhibition is "a tangible celebration of our city's diversity and unity," reinforcing the sense of community that the anniversary year aims to foster. Sparkassen board member Ralf Grewe agrees, extolling the exhibition's success and expressing his delight that the Sparkasse main branch is its first destination.
