Weekend events in Münster city
Mark your calendars, Münster residents! This September, the city is buzzing with a series of exciting events that are not to be missed.
Firstly, the much-anticipated Skate Night event is taking place on Friday, September 19th, starting at 7 PM. The theme for this year is light skating, and participants are encouraged to decorate themselves with bike lights, flashlights, or fairy lights to add a magical touch to the evening. The event kicks off at the castle square in the city.
On Saturday, September 20th, two events will be held simultaneously. The Promenade Flea Market, located at the Promenade and castle square, will start at 8 AM. This will be the last flea market of the year, and it will go into winter break after the event.
Meanwhile, the Children's Rights Festival will be held in Südpark as part of World Children's Day. André Gatzke from "Die Sendung mit der Maus" will host the stage program, making it a colorful playground for kids and families. Over 60 institutions and organizations, including the Kinderschutzbund Münster, will participate.
The Children's Rights Festival is not the only sporting event happening that day. The "Volksbank Münster Marathon" will take place on the same day, starting at a different location. The route for this sporting event goes from the city center to Nienberge, Roxel, and Gievenbeck. The marathon is expected to create a lively atmosphere, with participants running or cheering from the sidelines.
Lastly, the "Volksbank Münster Marathon" will take place again on Sunday, September 21st. So, if you missed it on the 20th, you still have a chance to be a part of this exciting event.
These events promise to make September a memorable month in Münster. Whether you're a sports enthusiast, a flea market lover, or a family looking for a fun day out, there's something for everyone. Don't miss out!
