Wooden sculptures from the Park of Foresters are being moved to Central Park of Culture and Leisure (ЦПКиО)

In Russia's foresters park, there stand 17 idols created by artist Valerey Gavrilov back in 1976. This complex of sculptures depicts Ural mythology. One of them, "Rudokop," has fallen, and the rest are deteriorating. The news reports that next week, these idols will be moved to Park Mayakovsky, as stated by our site.ru director, Pavel Zubakin.

"We thought we had more time. We were mistaken. We wanted to start from the season's beginning, but we were distracted by building a skating rink. We need to pick up the pace," Zubakin added.

The Central Park of Culture and Leisure (CPKiO) has long planned to get the idols for themselves, but originally intended to build a hangar first, so statues could be restored appropriately. The park administration already has a plan to save the idols. First, they will clear the statues of all accumulated pollution from years of outdoor exposure. Work will continue until the end of the year.

Following this, specialists from the Museum of Izos will begin the restoration process. The idols will be placed on a specially prepared territory, lit for display. The composition will be prepared in a way that preserves the original vision of the idols' creator.

  • It was reported back in 2024 that the statues were beginning to degrade. The administration of CPKiO planned to restore and exhibit the idols in the park in 2026.

However, as of my latest data update (December 2023), there are no confirmed plans reported in public sources to move these idols from the park of Russian foresters to Park Mayakovsky in 2025. Without recently released media reports or official announcements, it is unsure whether such plans are underway. If you have a reliable 2025 article or news item, please share it for a more accurate answer.

  • In the realm of public news, there have been no confirmed reports as of December 2023 detailing the movement of the ancient idols from the park of Russian foresters to Park Mayakovsky in 2025.
  • Moving forward, updates on the restoration and relocation of the idols from the park of Russian foresters to Park Mayakovsky would appear in lifestyle, home-and-garden, or news sections of various media outlets, as such significant events would be considered noteworthy in these categories.
