Youngsters Frolicking at Lackford Wetlands
The Wild Tots event, a nature-based play session for toddlers aged 18 months to 5 years, took place at the picturesque Lackford Lakes nature reserve on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
This event, led by the Engagement Officer, was an excellent opportunity for young children to immerse themselves in the wonders of nature. Babies in arms, baby-carriers, or pushchairs were welcome to accompany an older sibling to the session.
The event meeting point was pencils.reckons.complies, and while the routes were accessible to those using mobility aids or pushchairs, poor weather might affect accessibility. Participants were encouraged to wear waterproof clothing, appropriate footwear, and bring snacks/drinks for the children.
Dogs were allowed at the session, but only assistance dogs were permitted. Dogs on a lead were allowed on the red trail only. For those with mobility issues, it is advisable to contact the organizers beforehand for the week's plan.
The session took place off-site, so it's essential to note that bicycle parking information was not provided. However, an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities was available at the Centre.
